DAISY Releases Version 5.0 of Obi, the Audio Production Tool

The DAISY Consortium is pleased to announce the latest release of Obi, the popular open source navigable audio book creation tool. Obi produces books conforming to the DAISY 3, DAISY 2.02, W3C Audio Books and accessible EPUB 3 specifications.

Obi 5.0 upgrades Obi to the .NET 6 framework, keeping it abreast with new technologies. This was a high priority since Microsoft stopped supporting the .NET 4.0 framework from 2022 onwards.

The new version also comes with some useful feature enhancements such as the ability to highlight the cursor at the To-Do position when it is applied, adding To-Do comments in the CSV export, an updated Go To dialog for accepting the time in HH:MM:SS format, along with other improvements and bug fixes.
