To everyone who may visiting this site for the first time – Welcome! We are really pleased that you’re interested in finding out about accessible publishing and we are here to help you take those first important steps. It may seem daunting but it doesn’t have to be. Certainly there’s a lot to think about but if you take a measured and sturctured approach, you will soon be on your way to producing accessible content.

We love reassuring people that they may be doing more than they realise already and that every step they take to improve the accessibility of their content is important. No doubt some of you may have regional legislation that you have to bear in mind or you may be working towards being compliant in readiness for the European Accessibility Act – either way we can help you navigate the plethora of information and guidance that is available and make sure you know where to ask for help.

Our Getting Started page is not designed to bombard you with information. We’ve selected 10 important areas that you should focus on and from here you can follow the links to more in depth analysis and directions. The 10 areas that we’ve highlighted are:

  • Why do you need to be concerned about accessibility?
  • Conducting an overview of your current situation
  • Points of responsibility
  • Understanding the legal requirements in your market
  • Guidance and training
  • Technical requirements and solutions
  • Metadata
  • Testing content for accessibility
  • Customer service and feedback
  • Where to get help

So all that’s left to do is to dive in and let us know how you get on!
