ICEVI Organizational Award Conferred on The DAISY Consortium

The DAISY Consortium was honoured to receive the Organizational Award at the ICEVI World Conference 2024. The award citation acknowledges DAISY Consortium’s leadership and contribution to promoting accessible content for individuals with visual and print disabilities, enhancing accessibility in education and information dissemination, and the global effort to create equal educational opportunities for children and youth with blindness and low vision.

In response, DAISY Consortium President Maarten Verboom said “The DAISY Consortium is the global authority on accessible publishing. Our member organizations make millions of titles of books, educational materials, magazines and other publications accessible for people with print disabilities. We advise and support publishers, but also educators how to make their publications and materials accessible. We couldn’t do our work without the collaboration with organizations like ICEVI and the member organizations of ICEVI. I hope that we can continue and even expand our collaboration in future. I’m sure that will bring inclusive education for children with a visual impairment closer.”
