How do you communicate about accessibility? What do you say internally, and what statements do you make in public? Do you make any special efforts to facilitate communication with people with print disabilities to get feedback and provide support?
This webinar will explore the often behind the scenes efforts that publishers and service providers can make to support their accessibility practices, and ensure that their intended levels of service are experienced by users, and when things go wrong how they might get addressed in the most appropriate way.
May’s BIC Brunch event will guide attendees through the accessibility requirements and impacts of DRM and Text-to-Speech (TTS). WSpeakers will focus on the user experience when considering DRM and TTS, including which elements make a book accessible or inaccessible.

The next Ask the Expert event being held by the APACE projectwill focus on how complex images and data visualizations should be handled.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the topic and ask questions to Kirsi Ylänne, Accessibility Specialist at the Celia Accessibility Library. Drawing on her experience and results from the APACE pilot project, a collaboration between Celia and Helsinki University Press that explored the challenges of complex images, Kirsi Ylänne will share practical tips and best practices for creating accessible images and descriptions.
